Maybe Money DOES Grow on Trees!

The last two weeks have seen what qualifies in Pittsburgh as "The Blizzard of the Century" for funding of startup companies. I've had to check and make sure we somehow haven't been picked up like Dorothy's house in the Wizard of Oz and deposited in the middle of Silicon Valley!
Here's a recap of the deals as reported in the Post-Gazette, the Business Times and the DowJones VentureWire Alert.
1. Cohera Medical - $6.79M Angel round
2. Plextronics - $13.1M Series A
3. Logical Therapeutics - (not disclosed)
Rumored to be "in play" for funding are:
1. mSpoke
2. Netronome
3. Renal Solutions
4. ProteoPure
5. Fluorous Technologies
All I can say is, "Keep up the good work!" It would be fantastic to see this level of activity continue through the rest of this year and set the stage for an unbelievable 2007. Maybe the upcoming 3 Rivers Venture Fair will add to the momentum!
