Google - Innovator par excellence'
We all know Google - as a company AND a verb! Did you think it's "talent" was the search software? Well, that's but one of many, and you wouldn't be Googling if they also didn't "roll their own" hardware and operating software infrastructure. They have actually created their own file management, data base management and internal program management tools - the commercial ones just aren't up to their needs or fail-safe standards.Baseline magazine features this talent in their current issue, "How Google Works", which I found to be amazing and eye opening. If only more companies would adopt their resourcefulness and innovation! Read about how they, quite literally, built there own servers out of cheap parts and cork board, when they were starting out!
There is a HUGE lesson in this for all entreprenuers.
