Fireworks

It's so easy to forget to post, especially in the summer time. But, I'm back from the long holiday weekend and feel the need to catch up, so back to my headline - Fireworks.

Yes, we have had fireworks in town over the past few weeks and I'm not talking about the Fourth or the Pirates. There have been fireworks in that a major upheaval took place at the Allegheny Conference. Several people are out including our HELP champion, Kit Needham. We are waiting to see who will be stepping into the roles she had, as Kit was working on coordinating entrepreneurial access to our major companies and organizations.

Also, there is a decided undercurrent of discussion amongst the "major players" on the topic of "This isn't working." in regard to organizational and institutional support of entrepreneurial activities. In the last month I've spoken with a number of key people who have collaborated that there are high-level discussions ongoing in the vein of "Does the emperor have any clothes?" Seems that things we have been mentioning (along with other people and groups) are starting to get noticed at the top.

One never knows what twists and turns will manifest themselves, but don't be surprised if more "changes" happen. And the "word" I'm hearing is that these will be driven by a desire to truly improve things. I'll keep you up to date as I'm able to put the word out.
